About the Organization

WE-ACTx For Hope is a legally registered local nongovernmental organization in Rwanda, providing comprehensive HIV care and support to thousands of individuals. The organization integrates medical services, psychosocial support, and income-generation initiatives to holistically address the challenges of living with HIV.

Vision

We help Rwandan vulnerable families enjoy healthier and productive lives through supporting Orphans and Vulnerable children to get basic education and marketable skills. We empower vulnerable families to join their efforts and engage in sustainable economic activities for improvement of their livelihoods

Mission

To empower Rwandan vulnerable communities, live healthier and productive lives. Through partnership with the Government of Rwanda, donors, and other stakeholders, WE-ACTx FOR HOPE helps women and children living with HIV/AIDS and their families, Orphans and Vulnerable Children and Widows to acquire skills and capacity to fight diseases and poverty and live happier and productive lives

History and Background

Founded in 2004, WE-ACTx began as an international NGO addressing the HIV epidemic after the 1994 Rwandan genocide. Transitioning to a local NGO in 2007, it has expanded its scope to include psychosocial support, income generation, and advocacy for vulnerable populations.
